Resources
As someone who tackled the modelling industry on my own with no real guidance or mentoring these are some of the better resources that helped me on my way to where I am and are still major helps to this day (never stop learning!).

Adventures in CRE
Without doubt the best resource any keen analyst should look into. A.CRE offers a library of excel models that cover all aspects of real estate and is free to boot! Founded by Spencer Burton and Mike Belasco, A.CRE offers varying levels of modelling expertise and also offers courses.
MrExcel
Want to do something a bit more complicated in excel and google is just not doing it for you? Head over to the MrExcel forums and put your question to the masters in there.

Wallstreetoasis
Got a modelling test coming up and don't really know what to study? Maybe you are trying to wrap your head around a new RE concept and how to approach it? Head over to the Real Estate forums at Wallstreetoasis and consult with the monkeys there. You will converse with people from all types of backgrounds in RE, from executive investment bankers to boutique analysts.
The Real Estate Game
This an excellent book for both the beginners and the professionals. Drawing upon four decades of experience developing, owning, and managing properties and on almost thirty years of teaching at the Harvard Business School, William J. Poorvu offers an insider's perspective on how to make smart decisions about real estate.

daft.ie
Generally your basis to comparables in the Irish market and a secondary source of origination.
pleanala.ie
The Strategic Housing section is a great source of information on incoming BTR developments around the country. Any development of 100+ units must go straight to ABP and provide a website for their project, see exactly what others are doing on their developments.
Agency Research Portals
Agencies like Knight Frank, CBRE and Savills offer comprehensive research reports on the Irish BTR market quarterly, bi-annually and yearly. These offer a good source of comparable yields for your projects.
Publications
The Irish Times, Irish Independent and Sunday Business Post are great resources in keeping up with current real estate news. As a word of WARNING try to refrain from using figures reported by the media unless confirmed by an industry figure or someone connected to a business from the topic of the article.
